Is this a Varied Sedge-skipper (Hesperilla donnysa)?
I read in S Bond’s book it’s a rare resident with restricted distribution with core habitat in the high country - here it was at the Botanic Gardens 🤔
Hi @RosD this is a female Barred Skipper - they do look very similar to Varied Sedge-skippers but the forewing pattern is slightly different. In the field they are easier to separate - Barred Skippers are also smaller.
