Typical of many local roadsides adjoining farmland. Phalaris ‘jumps the fence’ and outcompetes most other ground cover species. Unlike many native grasses, it actively grows in winter and dries off in summer making it a major bushfire hazard along roadsides not grazed or slashed to keep the grass down.
