No worries - Even without heat Coprinellus and its kin often become a mass of black mush.

Coprinellus etc.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get back to these until today (Fri) and they are now just a pile of black decomposed material due to the heat this last week :-(
Next time I’ll get photos from all angles to make them easier to identify.
Cheers

When I look at this enlarged I can see several white stems and, if I couple this with the gregarious growth, the cap colours and the white granules on the cap surfaces I'm led to one of the Inkcaps with a veil - ergo, Coprinellus/Coprinopsis. But Tina's advice about different angles is still good - since such extra views will give more confidence to any ID.

Coprinellus etc.

These aee hard to ID from this photo. Any chance you could upload shots of an individual from all angles?
