@RogerF thanks so much Roger. I might add that Boris was tentative with his suggestion of L. discoidalis too (he added a “me thinks” in the comment area). We now have quite a few sightings so rather than ungroup them again, I’ve changed the taxon to “Lamprolina (Genus) CNM 01 (L. discoidalis or To Be Classified)” so they can stay together until more identified photos become available online 😊

When I first saw this beetle with you at your father's property, I sent pictures to Chris Reid but he was reluctant to go beyond Lamprolima sp. so I am quite happy with the suggestion of L discoidalis with a Bursaria as a host plant. I should add that I am not a taxonomist but can often tell when something is different from the usual suspects.
