This is apparently typical of how this species is observed - a master of disguise! Hiding from bark-hunting bird species (eg. Trecreeper) I suspect.

Seems quite worn, so difficult to see a match at the species level, thpugh likely Leistaercha (genus), perhaps L amphigramma?
